Kathy and her husband, Matt, farm and ranch on the Micheel family homestead, raising corn, soybeans, and operating a cow/calf and backgrounding program. Their passion for agriculture extends to their business, Boot Creek Farms Show Cattle, where they develop high-quality cattle genetics while fostering youth leadership and responsibility through 4-H, regional, and national shows.

As a BASEC board member since 2020 and a key member of the BASEC Marketing Committee, Kathy is deeply invested in the growth and sustainability of rural communities . She is dedicated to helping farmers, ranchers, and business owners expand their operations, preserve their legacies, and create lasting success. Additionally, as an active member of the Beadle County Genealogy Group, she believes that understanding and honoring the past is essential to thriving in the present and planning for the future.
